Refund Policy

  • Suppose IPS Institute is advised of a student’s intention to withdraw from their enrolment five business days prior to course commencement. In that case, any funds collected in relation to course fees will be refunded to the student, except the non-refundable portion as described under the Course Registration and Fees section of the Student Handbook.
  • Notification of a student’s intention to cancel received within five working days of course commencement will result in forfeiture of the Application fee(s) and deposit.
  • If IPS Institute cancels the course prior to course commencement (14 days from the date of the application being sent), the student is eligible for a full refund or may choose to use the fees paid as a credit towards another course.
  • There is a cooling-off period of 3 calendar days from the day you applied. If you cancel within the Cooling Off Period, you will receive a full refund of the Price, less our $200 administration fees, from the deposit and the application fee.
  • You will not be eligible for a refund within the Cooling Off Period if you have downloaded, viewed, or accessed over 5% of the content or accessed and completed any assessment within the Short Course.
  • Refunds will only be credited to the original funding source.
  • Otherwise, no refunds are provided for cancellation outside of the Cooling Off Period, subject to the rights you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or as otherwise set out in IPS Institute Terms & Conditions.
  • Students must advise IPS Institute that they are withdrawing from a subject or course enrolment. No refund will be paid for withdrawals. If the student has applied for a payment plan when enrolling, the amount of the payment plan must be paid out in full regardless of whether they are withdrawing from a subject enrolment where training has been provided. A refund administration fee of $200 applies to all refund applications.
  • IPS Institute will offer a suspension or extension at no charge to students under the following circumstances: by reason/s of proven financial hardship or medical conditions that will extend past the course enrolled.
  • Please contact admin@ipsinstitute.com for a Course Cancellation Request Form no more than seven calendar days from when the reason for your course cancellation is known to you with evidence of your reason for withdrawal.
  • Students who have enrolled in a subject can transfer to another subject prior to the commencement of the program without penalty. Students who share subjects will incur a $60 electronic course fee to move from the original subject, which will be deducted from the refund of the original course. Students who change subjects will be ineligible to apply for special consideration based on changing subjects alone.
  • IPS Institute runs student-based workshops, tutorials, short courses, and other course-related activities throughout the year. Total fees will be refunded if IPS Institute cancels one of these activities. IPS Institute will give participants seven days’ notice of the decision to cancel. No refund will be paid for tutorials. IPS Institute will not be liable for other associated costs such as accommodation or travel costs, including flights.
  • Where a student cancels a workshop registration prior to commencement, cancellation fees may apply.
  • In the unlikely event that IPS Institute defaults, for unforeseen reasons, and is unable to provide a course of study or continue a path of study IPS Institute will arrange for the student to enrol in a similar course of study and receive full recognition for any completed units of study already undertaken.
  • Refunds are paid in Australian dollars within 28 business days from the date the student lodges a written request with a completed Course Cancellation Request form and accompanying evidence.

No tuition fee refund is payable if:

  • The student formally withdraws from the program after commencement. In this case, the student is liable to pay the full tuition fee and any expenses, costs or disbursements incurred in recovering the tuition fees.
  • The terms and conditions of the contract between the student and IPS Institute are breached.
  • IPS Institute cancels the student’s enrolment
  • Tuition fee transfers after the program has commenced are solely at the discretion of IPS Institute. They are only made if the student is more suited to another institutional program for academic reasons.

The following fees are non-refundable:

  • Fees charged for administrative services, e.g. extension fees, electronic fees
  • Course enrolment fees
  • Application fees
  • Tuition fees
